Air cooled “V8” - doing it right or just wrong in a compelling way? Discuss.

The Jeep maxes out at .25 standardized Showboat units of overkill. Cars with fewer than four engines use a different unit system.

Well at least TV Tommy had a reason for his 4x4 dragster.

“Reason” - I’ve heard this word before, but I keep getting the sense that having one is crap. Oh, and it amuses me no end that Showboat has quick-change diffs. YOU KNOW, ‘CAUSE SOMETIMES YOU JUST WANT TO DRIVE YOUR FOUR-ENGINE DRAGSTER AROUND TOWN, RIGHT?

Four Harley V-Twins??? So, I guess it makes just a little less power than the stock engine.

Yes. I don’t see a problem with this.

If somebody wanted to drive Showboat randomly down some Main Street, they’d need to fit radiators, sadly. Otherwise, the pre-charge of coolant would start to overheat after a couple of blocks.

I failed to notice that small detail.

Simplify and add lightness when applied to dragsters very often means, “Radiators? Fuck ‘em”.

I can’t even begin to fathom the mess of gearing required to make all those work together.

I think it’s more of a W8

Yeah. And it only has to do one pass at a time.

They appear to be Twin-Cams. If they’re close to bone stock 88s, then they’re ~50hp each. 200HP isn’t a terrible amount to work with here. You can get way more power out of a set of larger Twin-Cams than that, though.

Geez man. I was just trying to do a little Harley bashing.
That said, that thing would sound like the maw of hell belching up the winner of a chili eating contest.

I figured you were engaged in light Harley bashing, and I totally approve. That said, I was curious just what the minimum HP this thing could have was.
